A general hairdresser serves both men and women and works more broadly. Choose a barbershop for a clean fade, a shaped beard line or a hot towel shave. Choose a hairdresser for a basic cut or when you go together with partner or children. ## What is the difference between a barber and a hairdresser? A barber is trained in clipper technique, skin fades, beard lines and the classic straight razor. A general hairdresser is trained mainly in scissor work for long and mixed hair.
